About the artist
Sáraméllo is a visual artist, illustrator, designer and musician.
With works exhibited in the Americas, Europe and Asia, she creates illustrations, drawings and paintings on multiple types of surfaces (canvas, paper, wall, clothing, toy art, among others). It is expressed through the most varied media, from traditional ones such as oil paint, colored pencils, ballpoint pens to digital tools.
His creations move through a universe of fantasy and dreams, where the figure of a child interacts with animals in surrealistic environments.
A supporter of the animal cause, the artist believes that painting them alongside children reminds us that man is also an animal species within a complex and interdependent ecosystem, and that the sense of equality among all terrestrial beings must prevail for a life more harmonious.
Sáraméllo likes to stimulate people's imagination through irreverent stories starring his characters.
However, don't be fooled! In addition to his imaginative scenarios, the aim of his work is to promote, in a playful way, people's awareness of the importance of the environment and childhood as a primordial phase for the construction of a holistic human being. These aspects must permeate respect and universal fraternal love.
The meticulously handmade details in his works are inspired by textile patterns, art and fashion design from the 18th and 20th centuries. Sáraméllo's inspirations range from artists such as Zacarías Velázquez González, Vicente Lopez, Frida Kahlo, Salvador Dalí, Klint to Alexander McQueen.
The artist also develops creations for commercial projects. He has signed illustrations for magazines, children's books, advertising campaigns, television channels and participated in projects for international brands such as Adidas Originals, Panasonic, HP, Bayer Pet, Ernst & Young, Record, Rede Globo, among others.
